SUGGESTIONS TO OUR DIVORCE CLIENTS

Tell us all we need to know. We cannot help without all the facts. If you are nervous or afraid to tell us, we understand, If it helps to write it out, then do so.

Answer all direct questions as accurately as possible. If you do not know, do not be afraid to say so. Some people know little about mortgages, taxes, etc., just as others know little about birthdates, school problems, health questions about the children, etc.

As "problems" or "questions" arise, call the office and pose the problem or question to me or my legal assistant and, hopefully, we will have an immediate solution or arrange to get back to you.

If a problem or question worries you repeatedly or continues to disturb you, write it out in detail and forward it to us. This helps you express your feelings, gives us direct information, and enables us to pinpoint and perhaps head off future problems. It also becomes a part of your file for future use and review.

You are our "eyes and ears" for information. Please keep us informed in order for us to help you.

We will not contact you unless we need your help and assistance. However, we want to be informed immediately of any changes you think are important such as matters involving finances, visitation, employment, etc.

Children are never rewards, punishments, pawns, or property to be used, abused, or shifted around. Your spouse may not understand this, but it is required of you and we do not allow a client to violate this rule, no matter how badly it may be violated by your spouse.

We will provide you with copies of all pleadings and correspondence that are either prepared or received by our office in order to keep you informed of the progress of your case.

You should read all correspondence received and keep it in the folder we have provided for your future use and reference.

The information you obtain at this site is not, nor is it intended to be, legal advice. You should consult an attorney for individual advice regarding your own situation.
